How whey is discovered and used
Whey, a by-product of cheese and curd manufacturing, was once considered a waste product. The discovery of whey as a functional food with nutritional applications elevated whey to a co-product in the manufacturing of cheese. Whey is now used in various products like infant formulas, food supplements, sport bars, and beverages to meet a variety of health goals for people of all ages. This is in addition to the various industrial applications of whey.
However, much confusion prevails over whey protein as a supplement.
Since ancient times when we have started to feed animals, humans have been using their products for a long time, one of them is milk which is very used in almost all the cultures of the world and the main thing to use it is that Its nutritional content is very high and it is good for all age groups. For a long time it was considered useless as the cheese was taken out of the milk and this thin liquid was put into animals and it was seen that the pig which was mixed with the feed was seen to have more growth than the normal pigs. Later we humans started to drink it and saw its benefits, it was most used for medical, it was very beneficial for digestion and joints. First of all, the Greeks started using it in large quantities.The Specialized Institute was open in18th century. These institutes especially used to do research on whey these institutes was open in Germany Switzerland, Austria and whey was used for dysentery, skin diseases etc.
